A speculative packaging design project rethinking waste, materiality, and human trace.
IN"HAIR"IT explores the overlooked environmental impact of human hair waste, reimagining it as a sustainable design material. While millions of kilograms of hair are discarded every year, this project reframes hair not as waste—but as a carrier of identity, resilience, and potential.
Through scientific research, material experimentation, and image-making, I visualised the unique texture and trace of hair using lumen printing, fluid painting, and shadow photography. These visuals were then applied to a series of packaging prototypes, proposing a poetic yet critical response to the future of circular materials in the beauty and textile industries.
By merging biology, sustainability, and design fiction, the project questions what we choose to inherit—and what we leave behind.
